210214; LIN TURNS 19!.

Hey :)

IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN~!.

The one and only time of the year where I feel the love, and extra love, from everyone around and it makes me oh so happy ^^

And this time, I turn NINETEEN!.

That age where you're kind-of-a-teenager-but-not-really but I don't think it really matters for me since I can pass of as sixteen forever!. :>

I must say I really had it different from last year, probably - obviously - because school has started and I have friends again~!. :>

This post is not to brag about what happened/what I got and stuff like that, it's just to share my birthday experience with you guys because it was really lovely, and I just feel like it's all worth mentioning and sharing because the people who made it so lovely are just too awesome. :')

Last year's first surprise kicked off early by sister (http://linsa8.blogspot.sg/2013_02_01_archive.html).

But this time, it was kicked off early by King Cobra!

I think they actually planned it all out, to surprise me after CC.

Told me to meet them downstairs to "take a picture" with the Cobras but sadly, I had to rush off back to loft since the gate was closing pretty soon. :(

The rest of them who were staying over carried on with the surprise later on though.

They came in with the cake and started singing Happy Birthday. I actually started singing and looked at Nathasha to ask who's birthday it was and she was like "IT'S FOR YOU!!" and I was like O.O

HAHAHAHA so I guess it was 10/10 for the surprise element. :'D

It's really huge, and I turned out liking it even more after using it.

She also smothered it in perfume because the auntie who sold it told her that it was waterproof. =.=

We then set off to have dinner at Swensens.

There was quite a queue at Swensens and we needed quite a big table so there was some waiting time.

Asked the waiter man about the birthday ice cream and he was like "I don't need to check your IC lah, okay?" and looked at my tiara like it was enough proof that it was my birthday. :'D

February 22nd, headed out to SADEAF and then a chill-out dinner at Old Airport Road.

Was a good, interesting day :)

Then on another day, headed out to Nathasha's place for some good ol' fun :>

They surprised me with yet another cake hehehe!

I was suspicious but they picked the right timing to bring the cake out and stuff.

Cant believe they just walked off one by one when I was talking to them >:(

But hahaha!

Still abit odd cuz (part of her) family sang me Happy Birthday as well :'D

Played Dance Central + Just Dance.
(I am so jealous that she has the games. I have to pay $4/hour just to play these!)

So, it's quite unbelievable how fast time flies.
My birthday was the day the holidays started and today, as I post this my holiday ends.
Two months zoomed by just like that.
 And even though it was the holidays, so much has happened and there's so much that I've learned.
And then here I am beginning my second year in Polytechnic.
Hopefully I'll survive just like, if not better than, I did last year.
Hang on and gear up, everyone.
 Things are 'bout to get real.

Crash Post.

Hello

Haven't blogged for a while, so let's begin from the few weeks ago.

E-learning week turned out to be days where we actually had to leave home and go places.

For Play, we went to Kidz Amaze @ SAFRA Toa Payoh.

I cant believe I actually doubted how amazing it could be.

Basically, the place is like the indoor playground which my parents used to take me to called Fun Dazzle.

I crawled and rolled and slide and climbed it was crazy!

Needless to say, there were so much laughter too.

Another task was to visit an indoor playground so we did.

There was also another field trip thing where we had to head over to Alexandra Fire Station for a FirstAid/CPR/AED crash course. I cant find the pictures for the day so here's the link to Rifqa's blog instead. She blogged about it pretty well.

And of course she didn't miss out the abang-abang CD HAHAHA. There's also a video of us extinguishing the fire :')

Thought I wouldn't even be able to lift up the fire extinguisher but turned out I managed :'D

On a Monday, we got Fortune Cookies by one of the lecturers.

 & for some reason my friends laughed at me.

I dont understand why.

I'm always behaved. :/ :P

Rifqa brought us her Chocolate Treasure in that mysterious orange bag which was nomnomnom.

How good does that look though, seriously? :P

For Hi Club later that evening, got a pretty cupcake from CamoCamp GL, Matthew!

It was the last Basic B lesson so weeeeeee these are my instructors ^^ :D
It has been a lovely 8 weeks with them all, they helped me with my signing and reading so much so yay!

Then on the Tuesday, I left home with this big bag.

Which was filled with these..

 

For it was the last field practicum session at my attachment centre. :(

Did not realise how sad it would be though.

I will miss them so much.

A few of them kept asking me to play/read/eat/sit with them after I told them it was my last day.

One even told me to go to the school near her house (although it wouldn't really make a difference since she's not even schooling there anyway)

Waited for them to wake up from their nap before leaving and when I walked in, one of  the girls ran up to me and hugged me :')

She also kept asking if I would drop by to see them again.

And they were so excited when I told them I had a surprise for them heehee.

Really, really cant thank the children enough.

Taught me so, so much and am so thankful they were handle-able and loveable :')

Oh yes, and this is one of the things I gave them :')

SO CUTE ARENT THEY! >.<

And of course so, so very thankful to have Vivian as my attachment buddy.
She has been the one who makes Tuesday so different from the rest of the days, and I'm still rather surprised at how well we managed to click through this attachment period.
Ah, really hope my next attachment buddy will be awesome too :')

On Wednesday, we decided to push forward FLC and went to lunch at Westmall.

Before heading back to school for lecture, Dina & I grabbed Gong Cha.

Earl Grey Milk Tea is my favorite from Gong Cha.:>

Vanilla Bean Scones

I love love love those specks of black vanilla beans.

It makes everything look (and not to mention taste) even better.

I could probably live with just staring at them. *.*

Cant really see them in pictures though :(

Was actually for Mum to bring to her workplace. ^^

Okay sorry for being weird.

Let me explain the picture first.

One of my group assignments was to act out a short play on any children's stories.

My group chose to do Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

I was the bear (Papa Bear, at that) hence the ears. :)

HEEHEE.

So I just printed out another (sub-)assignment plus I baked earlier today so I'm blogging hehehe!

Okay really happy with how these turned out so I had to blog it today, TODAY!

I have been looking for a chewy cookie recipe for the longest time and these did it.

Another good thing is how it does not crack and crumble when I was cutting it into bars, it stayed perfectly in shape!

The texture was also soft, if not chewy but I like it.

Would definitely make this again and again.

Sadly I don't think I have enough to go around for everyone to taste it so I'm sorry okay :(

And the scariest thing for me when I let people taste my bakes is that even though it suits my tastebuds, it might not suit theirs. :/

So I hope you guys will like it~ >.<

I also realised that you people like seeing pictures of baked goods AFTER it has been baked rather than the dough or whatever itself.

Hahaha you people are too cute.

And before I go off, just wanted to show you this picture of my Grandmumma & I.

School ended early for me today so I met up with her afterwards.

Followed her to run an errand and then brought her to go have lunch and do some grocery shopping.

Mum has been away and I have been so busy with school that she (Gmum) has been feeling really bored being at home alone all the time and I felt really bad for that. :(

But made me really happy seeing her happy.

Yay love you so much Grandmumma hehehe. ^^

(Excuse my eyebags. Sigh.)

This week is a little more spaced out for me.

If only every week was like this.

Mini Strawberry Cheesecake Tarts!.

Hello!

I am back for a little post because I have been working on a 1500 word essay and I really just want to type about something else.

So here goes!

Managed to squeeze some time and bake something new today since I had a little craving.

I initially wanted to make the baked version, but I didn't have much ingredients at home and I only wanted to use up whatever I had in the fridge.

Therefore I made the no-bake version.

So tadaa!

Mini Strawberry Cheesecake Tarts!

Recipe by Joyofbaking. :)

 Review:

I had to tweak the recipe amounts a little since I had rather odd amounts of ingredients.

So I went mainly by taste. Just kept tasting if one flavor was overpowering the other and whatnot.

What I had in mind was:

Sweet shortbread base

Sour & tart (tart as in the flavor not the thing itself lol) from the Cream Cheese & Lemon.

Sour in the form of fresh fruit from the Strawberry

I think I may have achieved most of it, although I feel that the Cream Cheese feeling might have been a little too lemony and the shortbread is a tad too sweet.

Also, I used the type of Cream Cheese that is "spreadable" which comes in a tub, and that might have affected the texture of the filling; not holding up and staying thick outside of the fridge.

So I would suggest using the block Cream Cheese instead.

But overall quite happy with how it turned out.

My craving was satisfied and I would make it again, only with some adjustments from the aforementioned mistakes.

Back to school work.
