Hello :)
Headed to Kin Yan Agrotech farm for a field trip with the school one Tuesday.
The farm grew Wheatgrass, Pea sprouts, Mushrooms, Cacti and Aloe Vera.
Learned the cycle of harvesting Wheatgrass first.
It looks very satisfying to cut them.
Seeds!
Where the mushrooms grow.
I'd include the name of these bag thingies but they sound kind of weird and I'm not sure if I heard correctly so let's just not.. :')
I don't know how I feel about mushrooms..
They look really gross sometimes. ><
Ms Mona: This one is nice, there's a pattern!
=.= HAHAHA.
We looked up and saw an eagle.
(The guy said it was a hawk but now I don't think there's hawks in Singapore, are there?)
And we just got more fascinated about the eagle than the cactus. :'D
So majestic. *v*
Oh did I mention these cacti are edible? :>
Soon we had the chance to taste the stuff they grow.
First up...
WHEATGRASS.
Described as:
Very, very, very good for you. It has a sweet taste, but the only downside that puts people off is the smell. It smells of grass.

My verdict:
Probably still very, very, very good for me. It amazingly does taste sweet even though there was no sugar added into it (definitely no sugar added, I saw the dude squeeze it on the spot). It smells like 1000000000% grass oh my yucks oh the grass smell. x.x
Next up...
CACTUS.
Described as:
It's like eating a green apple.
My verdict:
It's texture is definitely softer than a green apple, or any kind of apple at that. It tasted a little sour at first and then it became rather tasteless. My face throughout eating this was just O.o :/ >:/. I'm really confused about how it tastes but I can go without tasting it again.
Nextttttt...
ALOE VERA.
It looked so easy and satisfying to cut, this one. *v*
Described as:
I don't recall how they described this.
Probably due to the fact that in my head, it was going to taste like the ones in a KOI drink yum!
My verdict:
Note to self: THIS IS NOT KOI CAFE HAHAHA.
The aloe vera itself was pretty much tasteless.
But do you see that goo down the toothpick?
That goo was bitter and wasn't very pleasant to swallow.
It's a very good example of expectation vs reality.
Last but not least..
MUSHROOMS!
No need for descriptions, but here's my verdict.
Okay this one definitely deserved the exclamation point.
Really not sure why, but mushrooms cooked in oyster sauce and sesame oil never tasted so good. :'D
They literally cooked us three plates of mixed mushrooms and people just downed it like they're at home. :')
Yup, had to remake this at home. :>
The final one is..
BROWNIES!
Just kidding.
The mushrooms were the last of the edible food.
So apart from the eating, we got to plant too.
Rifqa actually deliberately sprayed water on me.
SO ANNOYING HAHAHA.
They look like chickpeas!
(Are they?! :/)
Cover with a damp paper towel.
And they gave us a box!
It's like a cake box.
Part of me wished I was carrying cake instead. :/ :'D
WEEEEEEE~
I know the box says Wheatgrass but what we're really planting is Pea sprouts!
Had a hard time telling people what it is.
There, these thingies!
The really cute auntie hahaha.
We got jellies as well.
And a bottle of Rosella water.
Not sure what it is, but the ants attacked it and I haven't tried it yet. :/
Bringing this home was such a challenge, all the seeds practically rolled over to one side.
So sorry, plant. :x
All in all, I really quite enjoyed this field trip.
Except the part where I lived in fear because there was a cat and someone scared me.
( You know who you are. >:( )
Will show you a picture of my Pea Sprouts in the next post! :D

Saw these chumps for the first time in 2015.
Did our little gift exchange thing which enlightened me quite a bit HAHAHA.
Ruling wasn't in Singapore though hence the picture representative.
I love gift exchange thingies!
Thank you so much for such an awesome first meeting in 2015,
I LOVE YOU ALL. ^^ :D

MY (not so) SECRET SANTA!
Not so because...HAHAHA. :D
But really, though, thank you's not good enough. :)
Please do keep smiling and doing things that make you happy cause you deserve it. ^^
I'm gonna miss you terribly when you fly off. :(
Headed off to Sunday Folks after that..
And called ourselves the Saturday Folks cause we went on a Saturday. :')
Had to wait 13 tables before getting ours, but I found a Phoon Huat and spent some time there.
I LOVE THAT SHOP! :D
Tried the Earl Grey Lavender flavor, which everyone kind of doubted cause they were afraid it would taste like air freshener. :')
But I loved it, though, I think I liked it more than I thought I would.
AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN! :D
Lastly..
Wen Feng donated me a packet of Applesauce the other day..
So I turned it into Mini Apple Pies!
Recipe from Laura Vitale, she made Apple Pie Cookies, but I just changed her cookie base to pie crust.
Could improve on the pie crust much, much, much more.
YUM YUM.
Du vet jeg elsker deg.
Goodbye
