Something about being around children..

When they feel uncomfortable, scared or worried,

So they come to you and say one or two things,

And only hope to hear your reassuring response.

When they feel irritated or annoyed,

So they look at you,

And only hope that you can bring them comfort again.

When they've done something wrong,

So they look at you and say nothing, with those pair of eyes,

And only hope you'll hear them out.

Something about being around children..

When they feel uncomfortable, scared or worried,

So they hold their hand out,

And only hope for you to hold it and guide them.

Something about being around children..

When all they want to do is have fun while learning from you,

So they'll want to play with you,

And only hope you'll have fun and learn with them.

Something about being around children..

When you've spent all day with them,

So they'll ask what time you're going home,

And when you do, from across the classroom they'll shout,

"I'll miss you."
