HEY!.
So I've finally had my first overnight camp in Ngee Ann which is Hi! Club Instructor's Camp.
Signed up with Dina & Nathasha and got to know they were both in Red, but I in Yellow.
Felt pretty nervous because making friends isn't exactly my forte but felt a little better after knowing Esther was in my group too.
Day 1.
Stuffed my bags and off I went~
Told my Grandma I looked like turtle with the big backpack and she kinda literally LOL-ed at me. :')
The bus was really packed as I got to school.
Thought everyone will get off but I realized it's still the holidays so I had to squeeze through and nudge everyone with my bags because they prolly couldn't even see me.
Reached school and met up with the three girls I've mentioned earlier.
Didn't manage to get breakfast at home so bought some things to nibble on while waiting.
Then moved off to the LT where we were greeted with an atmosphere much higher than before.
There was a whole row of people by the sides of the entrance of the LT cheering for people as they walk in and it felt so awkward so when they were a little off guard, the girls made me runthrough the entrance :'D
READ: I did not bring my phone around because the battery was dying (and there was not much of a point, really) so there really isn't much to see for Day 1.
So we played two games as a mass ice breaker (?) where I got to know two of my group mates.
Jie Ni in Virus & Kai Shiong in Scissors Paper Stone.
After that, we separated into our groups~
KING COBRA~!.
Got to know each other's names, sign names, played some games, came up with cheers~
Everyone was really nice and easy to get along with, so thank God for that :>
Coming up with the cheers was weird, cant count how many times the word "bra" was exclaimed lololol.
We even came up with one where the "bass dropped" ahahaha #cobracobradoomzidoomzi
Dropped our things off at the Loft, lunched and then off to the activities lined up for us. :)
The last of the day's games ended some time after 10pm, and then it was debrief + song signing.
Coincidence that my first song was Still Into You? Hahaha.
Our GL dropped by and left some supper but most of us already went to bed.
SO OLD SCHOOL, BISKUAT. :'D
Slept on the sofa bed thingy with Jie Ni. :)
Day 2.
Woke eaaaaaaarly and reported at the Kismis Field for Zumba.
I'm kinda really curious as to why it's called "Kismis".
Kismis is Raisins in Malay, you know. :/
Zumba-ed to The Fox, and then had breakfast.
Then sat through a talk by SADeaf, which was really good and interesting.
And then off to our outdoor activities.
Headed to VivoCity first, where there was a fairly long bus ride.
Had to play some games of charades with the public and I had to make them guess the word(s) "Bubble Tea".
(Speaking of Bubble Tea, the brother bought me KOI today YAY!)
Sat with Jie Ni and had a good conversation about the most random stuff lol.
Made it, had lunch while looking for the SM, played a game to get our mission, passed our mission and played another game to get our next location.
Which was the Botanical Gardens.
Never been there before in my life (considering that I am not much of a nature person) but it's kinda at a random place in Singapore.
And I had no idea the entry was free.
Had our bottles refilled and then off to complete some missions while on our way to the end point~!
Where we got lost a couple times.
BUT in the midst of being lost, we cracked some lame jokes, walked for a goooood distance, sweated off some calories and even saved a baby in a pram from rolling off the pavement.
So yay us! :>
Saw Skyler when we got to the end point and I would've hugged her but she would be smothered in my sweat lol but anyways, it was nice seeing her and I must say I have missed that "Liiiiiiiiin!" and smile of hers quite a bit. :x :>
Did one more mission and then went back to school in time for dinner :)
Oh and on the bus back to school I told Kelvin that he looks like a Tyler hahaha.
It's hard to explain but every time I see him the name "Tyler" just pops up in my head, like he sends off the vibes of a Tyler.
Or maybe I'm just a little mental hahaha. :')
Oh yes we also did the 2 hour silent pledge in the midst of everything!
Anyway, this was dinner.
I bought two cans of ice cold drinks from the vending machine because it was 60cents each and I need my sweet drinks.
It felt soooo good down my throat.
Oh and we get puddings after dinner.
THIS ONE WAS SO PRETTY *.*
But it was really tiny.
Took some time to sit with Nathasha & Dina (later joined in by Nanthini & Skyler) and had some good laughs ^^
Also practiced song signing where focus was just anywhere but in my head hahaha.
Ken Hui & Matthew (my GLs) kept calling (and signing) my name (which was mad cute omg love it when I see people sign my name hahaha) and asking if I understood.
I felt so bad, but getting really easily distracted and fading out to staring into blank space are my best friends when I am drained out :( So sorry.
Waited for a bit and then it was time for the night games~
Which was really different from the previous night's.
I must admit it was the best night walk I've had in my camp life lol.
The concept was pretty good and there was like a motive to the whole thing.
Debrief-ied when we go back to the loft and carried on with our song signing~
Had my first Pretzel. *.*
Candy~!
Managed to get formations, parts and the not-so-secret secret video message to the GLs done and off to bed at 430 in the morning~~ :>
Day 3.
Up to wash and pack up our things to book out of the loft.
Breakfast.
One last game.
Test.
(Really trying to cut words down here :'D)
Theory test was alright, I guess.
Wasn't too worried about that.
Lunch.
The top right thing was so weird, we thought it was tofu but it was eggs.
So, so weird. :/
Then off to Practical test....which I just really wish to delete off my mind, I can never look at the seniors the same way again.
Oh God.
Oh Goddddddddddddd.
Went back up to the holding room(?), gave Esther a hug and snapped some pictures~
Went into the room where everyone seemed to be sleeping, but I felt my body heating up quite a bit.
So I went to sit outside, since I had to make a call to my Dad anyway.
Was funny, I asked if he could pick me up and he said okay and I was like "YAY OK BYE THANK U LOVE U MISS U SEE U" and he was like "Yalah yalah yalah~" hehehe :P
Saw Nathasha & Dina at the corridor so we sat and talked and laughed even more. :)
Also popped a couple of pills because my body was still heating up a little too much a little too fast.
Got our shirts~
Matthew kinda just stared at my name for a second haha PERSON WHO WROTE MY NAME Y U LIKE THIS. :(
Seriously though, not the first time the M looks like an N.
Sounds wrong, hahaha if you get what I mean~
Also, realized I introduced myself as Lin so when they see/hear Amalina they're like WHO IS THIS :'D
Soooooooon it was time for the camp's closing~~~
Cobras started off with our cheer~
Song signing was quite alright despite the sound system failing on us.
We actually broke out into singing it together :')
Was also nice watching the other groups/GLs/Comm performing :)
Then the not-so-secret secret video was played~~
I see myself hahahahaha :'D
"Oh, my God, I think we saw our GLs~"
We had a funny time coming up with a sentence that is in line with the tune :')
They had a little video message to us too :')
Above is what we call the Matthew Smile ahahahah >.<
Some group time and then gave out the TOA & COP and then pictures~
Was a little lazy to whip out the phone so didn't have pictures with every single person :(
Thou shall see me fading out hahaha
GONE!.
Said all the goodbyes and then walked to the bus stop with Natha & Dina.
Creeped up behind Dad and surprised him lololol felt sooo bad for making him wait for quite a while :')
Bumped into a neighbour while on my way up on my own carrying my stuff and the helmet, and she thought I rode a bike on my own :')
I wish :'))))))))))
Came back to a welcome note and some goodies from the Said Sister!.
Yaaaaaaaay thank you financier~ :P
SOOOOOOOO.
Thank you SO MUCH, King Cobra, for errythang!
You guys made the camp really worth going ;)
Reading what you guys wrote on the piece of burnt paper (lololol) made me smile so much haha.
I am not the best at camps, being a camper or whatever, but yall really made me feel like a part of KC!
From being so enthu, to asking me to eat more, to asking me to shower earlier so I don't have to sleep with wet hair, to not letting me pass out on the loft floor, to making me laugh at almost everything, to dropping the bass and all that stuff!
You know who you are! :)
Couldn't ask for a better group of people to work/play/chill with for the 3 days :)
I would have instagram-ed this but I figured blogger could hold more words :P
Oh, this is Jie Ni, the first girl I talked to even before we knew our groups.
Also, thank you for tolerating my lame jokes and weird questions and stuff lol. :D
Dina, Natha, Esther~!
Wished I could've spent a little more time with you first two, but I'm pretty darn sure you had fun with your own group too~
But thank you for making me sign up for the camp haha hope we will all get to what/where we want in signing~
HEE.
MATTHEW & KEN HUI!.
Hahaha definitely did not expect you both to be my GLs but yeeyuh!
Thanks for being so nice and looking after us the whole time, really couldn't ask for better GLs so thank you~~ ^^
I loooooove how Hi! Club always give us pictures of the first/last day/sessions of everything!!
Really think pictures are the best representation of memories, so I'm glad I got this one. :)
(Lol at that stickman drawing though, guess who.)
Our identi-TEE (see what I did there?)
LOOK AT DAT COBRA THO too cute hahahahahaha :')
Oh and the camp was called/themed "Camouflage Camp", so that explains the soldiers and colours.
Hahaha love the three soldiers :')
So that's about it.
For some reason, after everything, I feel that I should actually chill and take up the challenge of being an instructor only when I actually am able to at least sign as I talk.
Because right now my signing + talking is a mess haha.
I also find that I might actually be a little better at reading than signing O.O
Ultimately, I have to practice loads loads loads more to improve in time.
Also, I have probably embarrassed myself so much throughout the camp that I get cringe attacks every time I think of it. *cringes*
Hope the lot of you spent the last week of your holidays good!
Till then.
Du vet jeg elsker deg.
Goodbye
