24.4.17 // CIDP update, after 6 years. :)

Hello!

I'm working tomorrow but I really wanted to write a post because it felt like I hit a really huge milestone in my (health) life. :)

Backstory:
I was diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) in 2011.
It's an autoimmune disease concerning the nerves.
Basically, it's similar to Guillian-Barre Syndrome, except that it is chronic hence the weakness and effects hit at a slower pace and over a longer a period of time until it hits its' peak.
I was 16 then.

Here & now:
I am 22 years of age now.
Completed my 'O' Levels, Diploma and currently a full-time working adult, a teacher to tiny humans. :)
Today, I had an appointment with my Neurologist.
A different doctor called me in and checked up on my muscle strength and reflexes.
My main doctor then came in and the doctor who checked me said that I've maxed up on all of it.
(They used their terms which I kinda already got a little hang of cause I've been hearing it a million times.)
So there it is.
From my understanding, I've hit 100% recovery.
I've regained everything I've lost.
The doctors also shared that not everyone with CIDP recovers fully, and that I'm the lucky few, and that it is rare.

//

It has been a long, long, long 6 years.
3 years with medication and 3 years without.
Bearing in mind that the side effects of the medication actually hindered the external physical recovery process.
It sorted out the issues inside, but brought the outside other issues as well.
And to be honest, it's rather funny how the medications and treatment process were an entire battle on its' own.
Really, it was.

Also, just the start of April this year, I had begun to work on my strength.
& I really think it affected the results today.
Just one month made all the difference?
Well then bring on the next month, and the next. :>

There had been days where I felt that this body, my body, was broken beyond repair.
That I just don't know what this vessel I had of a body was anymore.
Because 6 years ago I completely lost all control of it.
All of it.

& so that explains how huge of a milestone this is for me.
The feeling of being in (total) control of my body once again.
It's amazing.

Life is amazing.

I still have so many thoughts, but for now..
Alhamdulillah.
Thank you Allah swt.
Thank You.

In shaa Allah everything gets even better from here.

Du vet jeg elsker deg.
Goodbye

PS If you know anyone who has CIDP...hit me up? Maybe we can learn a thing or two from each other. :)

-

To be completely honest,
You look exhausted.
Exhausted from endlessly trying, trying, trying to make things work.
If not for yourself, then for others.
Perhaps so that other people don't feel what you feel, or go through what you've gone through.
Perhaps to protect them from the evil that you know.
Or perhaps to protect you from anything worse that could possibly happen.

You look exhausted, almost bruised..
Yet,
You smile and keep the atmosphere so bright and lovely.
It radiates from you, everything bright.
But it takes one more than just seeing that.

Perhaps it's due to my own beliefs and views in life -
There are two sides of everything.
I would like to call it BALANCE but..
Sometimes it does not feel like the weights are equal.

Maybe it never is.

But then again, maybe it is.

And that,
I know that sometimes when you tell people that they'll be fine,
Or the littlest advice you tell others..
They are ways of you trying to tell yourself the same thing,
Just that..
It doesn't seem to work on yourself as well as it does on the ones you tell it to.

When I look at you,
I feel nothing but admiration.

How you're strong enough to think of leaving - yet still live.

I cant put into words what you've done to/for me.
Maybe,
It's cause of what you've done for yourself.

BAND8S 2016 PART 1!. ^^ :)

Hi!
Here's a (hopefully) quick blog through of The Saids trip to Bandung, Indonesia back in March.
:>
Started off with a pretty big ride.
Them leather seats though right??
After a failed surprise attempt, this boy arrived!!
Ladykiller, this one. :')
We sat on that edge thing and he wanted to as well.
His tiny bum kept slipping in though, so we had to hold his back. :')
 Alamak cutie.
He probably thought they were friends.
And vice versa. :')
Super simple and casual OOTD, as ever.
My favorite Minion to use. :P
Compact, almost comfortable.
The clouds though.
Iman: It's a mist-ery.
:/
It's an open-concept airport.
Literally walking on the runway.
Did you know that the airport is actually the Air Force Base?
That's why it's really small.
Met our driver, Eka, and hopped into the second big van of the day!
For snacks and brunch, Eka brought us to a really hip and awesome looking place.
Look at that.
And look at how cute my Nyai is. ^^
The interior looks awesome too.
I'd like an Early Grey Tea please.
Of course I had to try the Liu Sha Bao here too. :P
Durian Cup LEGIT
Arrived at Aston Braga Hotel and got this complimentary drink!
It tasted like a fresh Cucumber juice drink which was very slightly sweetened.
Definitely better than those Lemongrass drinks.
My preference thing. :')
I love getting and trying hotels' complimentary drinks.
You kinda have no idea what to expect (or if you would get one at all).
Well hello card key guy.
My room and bed for the 4 nights!!
Would be contented if this was my actual room too. :P
Lol @ hot my stuff all just slid to the right. :')
The Bath Bomb. :D
The Ang Bao.
Headed out for the first few shopping stops!
D'fashion.
Where we bought cloth.
So much batik!! *v*
There were endless streets of graffiti I cannot even.
DINNER TIME!
Soda Gembira Version 1.

Soo much excitement for my very first Bubble Bath!!!
It smelled like roses.
Mad rosey scent and bubbles.
And that ends off Day 1!
^^ :)

Day 2.
Bucket Hat from Krisna, Bali.
Plain Black top from Cotton On.
Hana Tajima x Uniqlo Wrap Skirt from Uniqlo.
My first time in a wrap skirt on an occasion that is not Hari Raya.
Let's see how I fare.
Breakfast Cereal selection.
Not sure why I added this here but I did.
Car time!
Reminds me of Bali. :(
First stop of the day: Kawah Putih.
After a windy and cooling car trail up, we reached and met..
Kawah Pooh Tih!!
Omg how ingenious, seriously.. :')
Nyai walking down!

^^
Soooo the sulphur smell wasn't as bad as I expected.
We stayed around for quite awhile.
I look like a kid on a field trip here. :')
:D
Dad insisted that I take pictures like these (he snapped this for me) hahaha.

Look at that misty sky.
So much comfy-ness.

Really never knew we could touch the water. ^^
Dad....hahaha.
View from the little hut thing.
:D
:')
Tea Plantation/Field.
O.O
Tell me when you see it. O.o
LUNCH TIMEEEEEE!
At Saung Gawir.
Seated here.
Overlooking this.
ILT.
Nasi Liwet & Friends.
This was one extremely happy meal.
The rice is seasoned/flavored and the accompanying dishes go soo well together.
This left my tummy really happy.
I want to eat this again and again and again.
*v*
Lepak after eating.
^^
Don't know if you can see it but there's even a Flying Fox thingie here. :O
On the ride back to the hotel we saw...
A super bawse Air Asia promoter on the loose.
OMG right? :'D
DINNER TIME!
What's not amazing about this place?
I mean seriously.
Seriously, those prices..
And the quality of food to match.
I'm not even kidding.
My steak was really fairly thin and I asked for it to be cooked to Medium, and they did not overcook it at all.
Everything was just tasty and so worth the price I have nothing to complain about.

A few more pictures before I end off Part 1 of BAND8S.

 See ya!

Dau vet jeg elsker deg.
